RO systems for bottled water plants

Water train (example already designed)

~3 m³/h permeate ≈ 19,000–20,000 GPD on a soft borehole (~255 mg/L, hardness ~38 mg/L). High recovery (~75%) is safe at that hardness. Train: raw tank (often client) → pre-chlorination → dual media → carbon → 5 µm → antiscalant + SMBS → 1 µm / 0.45 µm → HP pump @ 10–12 bar → 1-pass RO on 2 × 2-element 8040 vessels when so specified → UV + residual chlorine / 0.2 µm as the standard demands → mineral dosing (pumps, tanks, agitator) when ordered. Permeate tank omitted when the client already has it.

Filling line (when ordered separately)

Auto bottle line quoted with supplier photos, features and BOQ (e.g. XGF8-8-4 + GXD-300 class), FOB or delivered as written, 100% advance with LPO on that package. A layout drawing marks included vs client-side utilities so the factory is not surprised.

Hygiene notes

Boreholes that are chemically easy can still carry Pseudomonas and yeast. Post-RO UV and absolute filtration are not optional on packaged water. Product-contact after RO is SS316L or food-grade plastic. Online conductivity with divert is compulsory on the water train we recommend.

Excluded unless written

Blow moulder, lab accreditation, raw and product civil tanks, factory HVAC, and any filler item struck off the layout.

A bottled-water plant needs consistent water from the source through RO, disinfection and mineral adjustment.

Applications

  • Water refill stations
  • Ice production

Typical configurable components

  • 5 µm and fine cartridge filtration

What we need to size it

  • Source analysis including hardness
  • Target output and product mineral profile
  • Applicable product standard

Limitations and water-quality notes

  • Even chemically easy sources can carry bacteria; post-RO UV and absolute filtration are essential
  • Product approvals remain the producer's responsibility
  • Recovery depends on hardness and silica

FAQ

Do you supply filling lines?

They can be quoted as a separate package.

Can you add minerals?

Yes, with mineral dosing.

Is UV required?

We treat post-RO UV and absolute filtration as standard for packaged water.
